Made traditionally from destemmed grapes, fermented warm with daily pump-overs and three weeks’ maceration, then aged for at least six months in French oak barrels. The Médoc’s sandy, gravelly soils give the wine its fine-grained structure.

About the Producer
The Thomas Barton Réserve range is the house’s homage to its founder, who arrived in Bordeaux from Ireland in 1725 and became one of the city’s leading wine merchants. The bottles nod to the 18th century: a classic Bordeaux flask, short capsule, long cork and a sober label.
Barton & Guestier is the oldest wine house in Bordeaux, founded in 1725 when Irishman Thomas Barton set up as a wine merchant; Daniel Guestier joined the business in 1802. Based today at Château Magnol in Blanquefort, B&G works with growers across France’s classic regions and was named European Winery of the Year in Wine Enthusiast’s 2024 Wine Star Awards.
