Tasting Profile: Remarks: The 2 varieties were carefully blended to highlight the ripe dark plum Cabernet fruit on the nose and palate with Merlot contributing savoury characters and velvety tannins on the palate. This is an elegant wine that has great depth of flavour and with its great balance and wood integration this wine should age gracefully for many years to come.

Food Pairing: Excellent on its own, or served with barbecued meat, veal, poultry, pasta and red meat dishes.

Serving: Serve at 16–18°C; in warm weather, 20 minutes in the fridge before pouring gets it there.

Kleine Zalze is an award-winning winery situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just two miles from: Stellenbosch. Winemaking has taken place on our estate on a small scale since 1695 but it was in 1996, when Kobus Basson and his family purchased the property, that the modern Kleine Zalze was born.

Our philosophy is simple success begins in the vineyards. Exceptional wines are made possible by selecting varieties and clones specifically suited to the various soils and slopes, and further careful management of the farm’s extensive natural assets.
